Day 2 of Ultimate practice Tuesday night.

Day 2 of Ultimate practice last night.

Needless to say the wind was a bit difficult, but we learned the CUP defense for Ultimate - which I kind of enjoyed.  The offense part of that the zone system was a bit... difficult, so I could probably use a bit more practice.

It's a neat process to learn a new sport - thats something you can kind of forget if you don't do it very often.  The chaos, confusion, the difficulty followed by those intense moments of clarity where that skill/theory you're learing at the moment clicks.

I wrote a (Bad) poem about it.  Here's to learning a new sport!

Wind blows.
I got a quick lesson.
I threw it lows.
But I was still stressin'

The disk would drop, waver and twist.
I couldn't get into the zone.
Perhaps try a little more flick of the wrist.
I still couldn't get it even when shown.

I'll get better with practice,
'least that's what they say.
There is hope that I'll get this,
and do it well someday.

I guess I'll keep learning,
at least I can run.
Even with the wind churning,
this sport is kind of fun.
