Some culinary experiments and a primal plunge.

First of all, thanks to S&T for an amazing morning workout. I think we got er done in about like 15 minutes and it was pretty sweet.  It consisted of:

Bear Crawl
Flutter Kicks
Wide stance pushups
Mountain Climbers
Reach Ups
Side push-ups
Dips

Quite a nice circuit to start a beautiful Sunday afternoon.

Second off, I apologize for any typos - the beautiful summer days bring with them wine, beer and tequilla.  Its a rule.

The day brought some gardening.  I think I ripped up plot # 6 this year.  I will snap some pictures once it settles a bit.  It will be gorgeous.  Now the back yard is in half bloom/growth so its not quite impressive, but I'll post a photo later in the season.

It also brought with it lots of food & company.  Which.  I.  Love.

Here is a delicious green bean salad that accompanied our mexican bunless burgers (served with guacamole and some roasted veggies)

Green Bean Salad:
2 lb cooked green beans (4-5 minutes in salty water, then cool with ice bath)
Roasted Pecans (Recipe called for 3/4 cup, I think I used like 1.5)

Dressing:
1/4 cup olive oil
2 tbsp dijon mustard
2 tbsp red wine vinegar
1 tbsp maple syrup

So easy - So Good.  The roasted pecans really made it excellent, and I think that I will roast pecans just to have hanging around.

Our evening ended, quite appropriately, with a plunge into lake summerside.  Apparently we know someone who knows someone who lives on the lake...  Got to see their mansion (at least, compared to our house it is a mansion) and jump off their dock.  I just want to say, the lake is still cold.  Really really cold.  The fish like it though.  So did I.

I'll add another recipe later this week.
